DAY 1 — When Everything Feels Unstable

Day 1 — The God Who Does Not Change

Good morning, and welcome to the first day of your Pathway of Faith devotional journey.

Our scripture today comes from Hebrews chapter 13, verse 8.

“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.”

There are seasons in life when everything feels unstable.

The cost of living shifts.

Bills increase.

Income feels uncertain.

Plans change without warning.

And the future can begin to feel unpredictable.

In those moments, it is easy to feel like the ground beneath you is moving.

You are not alone in that feeling.

Many people are carrying quiet burdens right now, trying to make sense of changing circumstances while still holding everything together.

But into that uncertainty, God speaks a simple and unshakable truth.

Jesus Christ does not change.

The world may shift.

Circumstances may rise and fall.

Systems may fail.

But Jesus remains the same.

Yesterday, today, and forever.

That means His love for you is not affected by economic conditions.

His care for you is not reduced when times are hard.

And His promises toward you are not weakened by instability.

Your security is not built on how predictable life feels.

It is built on the unchanging nature of Christ.

When everything around you feels uncertain, there is something deeply grounding about remembering what cannot be shaken.

Jesus is steady.

Jesus is faithful.

Jesus is present.

And Jesus is holding you even now.

You may not be able to control what tomorrow looks like.

But you can rest in the One who already stands in your tomorrow.

This is where peace begins.

Not in control.

But in trust.

Not in certainty of circumstances.

But in certainty of Christ.

Today’s Pathway Step:

Take a moment today to identify one area of your life where you have been feeling unstable or uncertain.

Instead of rehearsing fear, pause and speak this declaration aloud:

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”

Say it again.

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”

Let that truth settle into your spirit today.

Let it steady what feels shaken.

Let it anchor what feels uncertain.

Let us pray.

Lord Jesus, thank You that You never change.

When everything around me feels uncertain, steady my heart in Your unchanging love.

Forgive me for the times I have placed my security in things that cannot last.

Teach me to rest in You alone.

Remind me today that You are faithful, You are constant, and You are near.

Hold me steady in every shifting season of life.

In Your mighty name I pray, Amen.
