A WORLD OF DECEPTION, A CALL TO STAND

Title: Stand Strong in the Lord
Speaker: Pastor Jim
Scripture Focus: Ephesians chapter 6 verse 10 through 18 (KJV)

Introduction β€” A World of Deception, A Call to Stand

Good morning, church family.

To everyone joining us today from homes, hospitals, workplaces, vehicles, and quiet rooms across the world β€” welcome.

The Spirit of God is with us.

And I believe the Lord has brought many of you here today for one reason: to strengthen you for the battle.

We are living in an hour where truth is constantly questioned, righteousness is openly mocked, and spiritual confusion fills the atmosphere like a heavy fog.

What once was called good is now called evil.
What once was called evil is now celebrated.

Voices are everywhere.

Voices of fear.
Voices of compromise.
Voices of deception.

And if we are not anchored in God, those voices will shape us.

But hear me clearly this morning:

God has not left His people defenseless.

He has not abandoned us in confusion.
He has not left us unarmed in the middle of spiritual warfare.

He has given us His armor.
He has given us His strength.
He has given us His Word.

Paul did not tell the church to run.

He did not tell the church to hide.

He said:

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.”
β€” Ephesians chapter 6 verse 10.

That is the call of God in this generation.

Stand.

This past week, we walked through each piece of the armor in our devotionals. But today, we gather it all together.

Because church, this is not theory.

This is survival.

This is how we endure.

This is how we overcome.

Point One β€” The Battle Is Real, But So Is God’s Power

Some of you walked into this service carrying battles nobody else can see.

Battles in your mind.
Battles in your home.
Battles in your faith.

And sometimes the enemy convinces us that the people around us are the problem.

But Paul reminds us:

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood…”
β€” Ephesians chapter 6 verse 12.

Your coworker is not your enemy.

Your neighbor is not your enemy.

Your family member is not your enemy.

The real battle is spiritual.

It is unseen.

But it is very real.

The enemy wants to wear you down through fear, distraction, division, and deception.

But God says:

“Be strong in the Lord.”

Not in your emotions.

Not in your personality.

Not in your willpower.

In the Lord.

Your strength is not something you manufacture.

It is something you receive.

When your knees are weak, His strength remains.

When your heart is tired, His power still stands.

When your mind feels overwhelmed, His Spirit still sustains.

Point Two β€” The Armor of God: Your Daily Equipment

Paul tells us to put on the whole armor of God.

Not pieces.

The whole armor.

Because every piece matters.

The Belt of Truth

Truth holds everything together.

Without truth, everything collapses.

And in a world full of deception, truth is not optional.

It is essential.

The enemy works in lies.

But truth exposes him.

The Breastplate of Righteousness

This is not your righteousness.

This is His.

Christ covers your failures.

Christ covers your shame.

Christ covers your past.

The enemy may accuse you, but righteousness reminds you who you belong to.

The Shoes of the Gospel of Peace

Peace does not mean there is no battle.

Peace means Christ walks with you through it.

Every step you take carries His peace.

Even in difficult ground.

Even in hard seasons.

The Shield of Faith

Faith is not emotion.

Faith is decision.

Faith says:

β€œI trust God even when I do not understand.”

That shield extinguishes fiery darts.

Fear.

Doubt.

Accusation.

Temptation.

Faith blocks what hell sends.

The Helmet of Salvation

Your mind is a battlefield.

And salvation protects your identity.

It reminds you:

I am redeemed.

I am forgiven.

I am His.

The enemy attacks the mind because he knows confusion can weaken the heart.

But salvation guards your thoughts.

The Sword of the Spirit β€” The Word of God

This is your offensive weapon.

When Jesus faced temptation, He did not debate.

He answered:

“It is written.”

The Word cuts through confusion.

The Word destroys lies.

The Word brings light into darkness.

Church, if you neglect the Word, you dull your sword.

But if you stay in the Word, you stay armed.

Point Three β€” Standing Together, Not Alone

One of the enemy’s greatest strategies is isolation.

He wants you alone.

Because isolated believers become vulnerable believers.

But God never designed His people to stand alone.

Scripture tells us:

“And having done all, to stand.”
β€” Ephesians chapter 6 verse 13.

Standing is not passive.

Standing is warfare.

Standing means:

I will not bow.

I will not quit.

I will not surrender.

I will not abandon truth.

This week’s devotionals reminded us:

We stand stronger together.

A soldier alone is exposed.

But warriors side by side become a wall.

That is what the church is meant to be.

A place of strength.

A place of prayer.

A place of covering.

A place where weary people can stand again.

Point Four β€” The Call of the Church Today

Church, this is our moment.

Not to retreat.

Not to compromise.

Not to blend into the world.

But to stand.

Stand in truth.

Stand in love.

Stand in unity.

Stand in holiness.

Stand in courage.

The world does not need a silent church.

The world needs a strong church.

An armored church.

An anchored church.

An unashamed church.

A church that refuses to bow to deception.

A church that refuses to surrender truth.

A church that stands in the power of Almighty God.

Conclusion β€” The Battle Continues, But You Are Not Alone

Some of you are weary.

Some of you feel outnumbered.

Some of you feel like the ground beneath you is shifting.

But hear this:

God has equipped you.

God has strengthened you.

God has gone before you.

And God stands beside you.

You are not defenseless.

You are not abandoned.

You are not alone.

Put on the armor.

Lift up the shield.

Take up the sword.

Stand strong in the Lord.

And when the battle rages, remember:

Victory does not belong to the strongest.

Victory belongs to those who remain standing in Christ.

Closing Prayer

Lord, strengthen Your people today.

Clothe us in Your armor.

Fasten truth around us.

Guard our hearts with righteousness.

Plant peace beneath our feet.

Lift faith in our hands.

Protect our minds with salvation.

And sharpen our sword through Your holy Word.

Help us stand in a world filled with deception.

Not in our strength.

But in Yours.

And when we grow weary, remind us that You stand beside us.

In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
